Moosburg

Another location with bags of Austrian charm and one that demonstrates yet again that these guys know how to design a good golf course. Indeed, Moosburg was awarded the top prize by the “European Society of Golf Course Architects”.

Situated on an elevated plateau above the beautiful waters of the Wörthersee, Moosburg is one of the longest courses in the region. But don’t let that dissuade you, the course has been crafted into the natural beauty of the mountainside but can easily be negotiated without the need for climbing ropes. The wide fairways make Moosburg a favourite with the less accurate drivers amongst us but there is plenty to keep low handicappers interested with an abundance of natural water and bunkers tactically placed to keep you on your toes. The front and back nines are evenly matched in terms of challenge with several long par fives and some great par threes. The stroke index one, par four fourteenth is a particular delight requiring a long and precise second to get over the green side lake and trees, if you want to keep in regulation.
